[Product Review] Taliah Waajid Curly Curl Creme

"Defines curls, waves, and coils; moisturizes and conditions; no sticky build-up"

Hey loves! I just uploaded a product review on the Taliah Waajid Curly Curl Creme. Check it out:

As promised, I set out and did some research on the Taliah Waajid brand. According to Black Earth Products:

For over 25 years Taliah Waajid continues to live, breath and love natural hair. It is her life and it shows in what she has done, not only to benefit her, but also for the benefit of others in the natural hair care industry. This is why Taliah Waajid is dubbed, “The Queen of Curly, Coily, Natural Hair Care.” She really cares about the natural hair care industry and community.

From what I've read, Taliah Waajid is a woman who has basically focused her life on natural hair care. I don't think she's ever even had a relaxer... Her story is interesting because she began caring for and styling natural hair for herself and others at a very young age. She struggled to find work in beauty salons because natural hair just wasn't 'in' then. But through it all she managed to continue practing her love for natural hair care and eventually opened her own shop and began this line of products that, from what I've seen, have received pretty positive reviews.

Taliah Waajid is also known for great natural hair products for children. I'm looking into her line a bit more and may try something out on my 4 year old daughter's hair. You know I'll keep you posted [;

[#Shoutout] to you, Ms. Taliaj Waajid for following your dreams despite the many obstacles you've faced and ultimately coming up with this wonderful curly curl creme formula [:

[Tutorial]: DIY Lip Exfoliation

Happy Friday Eve my loves! I'm not sure what the weather is like where you are, but it's been pretty up and down the past 2 weeks here in New Orleans. I'm talking below 50 degrees in the morning, to damn near 80 degrees by lunch time, to thunderstorms on the way home in the evening... who has time to play around with weather like this?! Lol.

Aside from leaving you with an ever-lasting cold, harsh weather conditions like this can also do major damage to your lips! I don't know about you, but I damn sure don't want to be caught with cracked up, crusty down, dry lips. Not cute.

So what can you do to protect your lips? Exfoliate! And the best thing about this process... it costs nothing! Last year (before going natural) I posted a video on DIY lip exfoliation using a few items I got straight from my own kitchen... Check it out:

I'm actually going to do this myself when I get home today... Hope this helps someone out there!!

It's time for [change]...

Good morning loves! We're only 4 days into the new year and I've already had to face some unforseen challenges :( Now this has nothing to do with natural hair, but it's a real life situation I had to share...

Without going into too much detail, I found myself dead broke this morning. Like, broke broke. I'm talking $1 to my name broke. SMDH. Now imagine me sitting at home about to cry my big eyes out because I'd just realized how dire my sitution was. And to make matters worse the tights I had on under my dress miraculously tore right as I was leaving home, so I was really in need of a few bucks for a replacement pair... No way was I going to the office looking like a hooker!

So I'm walking around the house and I'm thinking. Thinking, thinking, thinking... change! I have loads of loose change in my car, in my wallet, around the house, etc., so I knew I could hustle up a few dollars for some cheap tights!

Long story short, I was able to buy another pair of stockings aaaaaand some cash to hold me over until I get paid this weekend! And all of this is possible thanks to the loose change I let pile up in my piggy bank :) I took a few scoops of change and headed to Rouses to have it all counted up and cashed. 5 minutes later I was walking out feeling like a millionaire with a new pair of tights and $28.42 in cash!

I don't know why I'm so excited about this, but I am! It's like one of those 'when you least expect it' lessons in life... Without even realizing it, I'd been making small deposits into my future every time I dropped a quarter or dime into the bank. Sort of like dropping another cotton ball into the back-up pillow I didn't realize I had.

They say you can't fully appreciate what it feels like to win if you've never known what it feels like to lose. I can 2nd that... and because I was TOTALLY losing this morning, I'm going to do whatever is in my power to make sure that I never feel that way again. Before this incident, I'd considered myself a pretty good saver. I prided myself on preparing for rainy days... but what about those unforseen hurricanes in life? [crickets]

I've now decided to make more of an effort with my change savings... If I can subconciously save $30, imagine what I can do if I'm actually putting effort into it! It's about to go DOWN! Lol...

What are your thoughts on savings? Have any tips or techniques you'd like to share?
